The process of magnetic particle testing is a method for detecting surface discontinuities in ferro-magnetic materials.

The principles of magnetic testing are that the component under test is magnetised. A magnetic ink is then applied to the area to be inspected and the resulting pattern evaluated.

Inidam is equipped with both permanent and electro magnets and the equipment is ideally suited for both laboratory and on-site work.

Under laboratory conditions a Fluorescent Magnetic Ink is used and for reasons of portability Black Magnetic Ink with a contrasting paint will be used on site.
